Oxford is getting ready for the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay and Evening Celebration on Monday 9 July 2012.
People from across Oxford will be able to welcome the Olympic Flame to the streets and celebrate the achievements of the inspirational Torchbearers carrying the Flame in their community.
The Olympic Flame will finish its journey at South Park for the LOCOG Evening Celebration. This is a ticket only event and people without tickets should not attempt attending.
Those attending the event should be prepared for poor weather conditions and wear sensible footwear.
Please note: Tickets were available from Wednesday 6 June 2012 and are now SOLD OUT.
South Park opens at 3.30pm for the Evening Celebration Event. The main event will run from 5pm - 10.30pm.
Tickets were available only for Oxfordshire postcodes and limited to four per household.

At the event, Coca-Cola, a Presenting Partner of the Olympic Torch Relay, is bringing rockers Young Guns to Oxford for a spectacular evening celebration.
Samsung will be getting Oxford dancing by bringing Britain's Got Talent finalists Twist & Pulse.
Lloyds TSB will be bringing us an areial dance performance.
As the LOCOG stage show finishes at approximately 7.30pm we transfer to the stages of Festive Oxford 2012 until 9.30pm where you will be entertained by local, national and international artists.
Festive Oxford 2012 has been co-ordinated by Oxford City Council and Children's International Arts Organisation (CIAO). It is being supported by Arts Council England, Accentuate and Love Oxford.
The Festival Oxford 2012 will include international acts such as Ugar Purple Spider Dance Team from Australia.
There will be national acts such as Olympic legacy project Festive Road Tea Party and comedy performances from renowned acts such as Fraser Hooper.
There will be performances from local acts such Under Construction, Playhouse Theatre Tent, Folk Musicians, Anjali Dance Company and Oxford County Youth Band
There will also be sport activities and demonstrations to include activities such as Trampolining, a swim bench, Shoot a hoop and Tennis Zone stalls.
The finale of the evening event is an hour long performance of the Tree of Light.
It is one of three epic performances that will take place across the Thames Valley this summer. The culmination of a spectacular and ground breaking two year arts project, the performance will bring together 850 participants – including singers, dancers and power-generating cyclists – from school and community groups across Oxfordshire. Staged around a central ‘Tree of Light’ – a monumental sculpted work created by cutting edge set design duo Block9 – the hour long performance promises to be a visual and sonic feast for the senses. It starts at 9.30pm and is due to finish at 10.30pm.
The Tree of Light is part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, the largest cultural celebration in the history of the modern Olympic and Paralympic movements. The project is funded by the arts Council England and the Legacy Trust UK, which creates a lasting impact from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by funding ideas and local talent to inspire creativity across the UK. It is being delivered by Thames Arts, a consortium that includes CIAO! Festival, Oxford Inspires, Henley Festival and Windsor Festival. For more information visit the Tree of Light website.

On Foot
If you are walking from the centre of Oxford, it will take approximately 20 minutes to walk down the High Street and turn up Cowley Road from The Plain roundabout.
By Road
The streets around the Torch Relay route and the Evening Event will have parking reserved for residents only and will be regulated and enforced.
If arriving from outside of Oxford we strongly recommended you use the Park & Ride bus service.
Park & Ride bus services operate from Thornhill, Seacourt, Peartree, Redbridge and Water Eaton.

Parking & Public Car Parks
Oxford City Council is responsible for off-street parking in Oxford. A list of public car parks can be found on our Car Parks page.
The nearest public car park to the Evening Event is St Clement's Car Park but this is expected to fill-up quickly on the day.
Union Street will be closed on the evening of 8 July 2012 and will remain closed on 9 July 2012 except to Blue Badge holders.
Barns Road car park will operate as normal until 6.30pm on 9 July 2012. After this the car park will operate without charge. The machines will be out of service and no payment will be required. Signage will be installed to reflect this. The car park will then be locked at midnight.

Coach Parking
There will be coach parking at Oxpens car park (overflow at Westgate car park) operated by Oxford City Council's Parking Team and will be based on first come first served basis. For further information please contact the Parking Team.
By Train
The Oxford train station is served by a frequent direct service between Oxford and London and between Oxford and Birmingham New Street.
First Great Western, Cross Country and Chiltern Railways all operate from Oxford train station.

By Bus
For those living within the city, there a number of local buses which will stop along the Torch Relay route and directly outside South Park (Headington Hill stop) for the Evening Event.
Express coach services from London (Oxford Tube operated by Stagecoach and X90 operated by Oxford Bus Company) and the Heathrow and Gatwick Express (X70, X80) also stop at St Clement's Street.
