When making a claim for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction you're required to sign a declaration that you'll let us know in writing about any change of circumstance (for you or anyone living with you) that could affect your claim.

Changes that can affect your Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction
We've listed some of the changes that may affect your Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction.
This is not a full list so if there's a change and you're not sure if it will affect your claim, please get in touch for advice.
Changes you need to tell us about include:
- you move home
- someone moves in or out
- your income changes
- your rent changes (unless you are a council tenant)
- you qualify for another benefit
- you stop getting Income Support or Jobseeker's Allowance
- anyone living in your home has a change of circumstance
When to tell us about the change
You need to tell us within one calendar month of the change that has happened.
Please don't delay or it can lead to over or underpayment. Find out what happens if you're overpaid benefit.

If we need you to send any supporting evidence or information we'll let you know after you've reported the change to us.
