This page explains how to access webchat, when it's available and when it might be switched off.

When is webchat available

Webchat is usualy available on week days from 8am to 5pm.

It is switched off:

  • at weekends and bank holidays
  • weekday evenings (between 5pm and 8am)
  • when phones are very busy (average call volumes)

How to access webchat

Webchat sets cookies on your device to work. Data protection legislation means our website cannot set those cookies without your permmission. To accept webchat cookies:

  1. select the 'set my cookie preferences' button
  2. select 'Web chat'
  3. change the 'inactive' bar to 'active
  4. select 'Save settings'.

When you have accepted cookies, if webchat is turned on you'll see a 'chat with us' tab at the bottom of your screen. Select this and follow further instructions.
