There will be a parliamentary general election held on Thursday 4 July 2024.
Oxford is covered by two constituencies: Oxford East and Oxford West and Abingdon.
Oxford East is wholly contained within Oxford and is made up of seventeen of the City Council’s wards (Barton & Sandhills, Blackbird Leys, Churchill, Cowley, Donnington, Headington, Headington Hill & Northway, Hinksey Park, Littlemore, Lye Valley, Marston, Northfield Brook, Quarry & Risinghurst, Rose Hill & Iffley, St. Clement's, St. Mary's and Temple Cowley). Oxford City Council is responsible for organising the poll.
Oxford West and Abingdon contains the following seven City Council wards: Wolvercote, Cutteslowe & Sunnymead, Summertown, Walton Manor, Osney & St. Thomas, Carfax & Jericho and Holywell, plus parts of the Vale of White Horse District Council’s area. As the majority of the constituency is in the Vale’s area, it is responsible for its running. For further details visit the Vale of White Horse District Council website.
Under the 2023 review of parliamentary boundaries parts of the centre of Oxford moved from Oxford East into Oxford West and Abingdon, in order to improve electoral equality. You can look at the new boundaries on the Boundary Commission's website.
