The government wants to simplify local government and give more power and money to local areas. To do this, the government wants to do two things:
- Devolution
- Local government reorganisation
As part of the changes, Oxford’s existing two councils will be abolished and replaced with one council responsible for all council services.
Our proposal is to create one council for the greater Oxford area.
