Oxford City Council classifies repairs reported to us into three categories: emergency, urgent, and routine. This helps us respond in the most appropriate timeframe.
Emergency repairs
Emergency repairs are necessary to:
- make your home safe from injury risks or major damage
- secure your home
Examples include:
- blocked toilet or soil stack
- water leak
- boarding up and securing a door or window
- restoring power to light circuits or electrical sockets
- providing heating or hot water (1 November to 30 April)
We aim to attend to emergency repairs within 24 hours. For these issues, contact us at 01865 249811.
Urgent repairs
Urgent repairs address smaller issues in your home that:
- prevent major inconvenience
- avert immediate home damage
- solve health or security concerns
They include:
- fixing an overflowing issue
- replacing carbon monoxide monitors or smoke detectors
- addressing blocked or leaking waste pipes
- restoring lost heating or hot water
Our goal is to attend to urgent repairs within 3 days, not counting weekends and bank holidays. We may respond faster in exceptional circumstances, like a resident's medical condition.
Routine repairs
Routine repairs cover all other non-urgent issues that don’t pose immediate inconvenience or danger. We aim to complete these repairs within 28 working days, or they may be scheduled into a planned programme of work.
