We have a special funding initiative that allows us to buy back a select number of ex-council homes, with a particular interest in leasehold properties. This is an opportunity for you to sell your home directly to us.
How the property buyback process works
If you are a leaseholder and are interested, the process for selling your home to us is similar to selling on the open market - but without the agency fees:
- We will look at the demand for your home by taking into consideration area and bedroom size - we currently have a primary focus on one-bedroom properties
- If your home meets our requirements in principle, we can look at tabling an offer based on information and photographs provided. The offer will be subject to a survey being carried out by our surveyor
- Upon the successful completion of a survey, we will then confirm the proposed purchase price and begin the conveyancing process
We are not able to buy your home if you want to remain in the property. We do not make an offer on every property we survey.
Properties must be sold with vacant possession. If your home is tenanted, the current tenants must have a forward plan. We cannot make a purchase that would result in homelessness.
Benefits of selling to us
Choosing to sell your home to us can be advantageous:
- you save on estate agent fees
- no worries about being in a property chain
- quick, 'cash' basis transaction without waiting for mortgage approvals
- direct communication with a single point of contact in the council
As the seller, you are responsible for your legal fees. However, selling to us might be a seamless and beneficial option for you.
