From time to time, major work is required to maintain, meet safety standards, and improve your council home. We aim to carry out these works while you’re living in your home, provided it’s safe and reasonable.
Before work starts, our Tenant Liaison Officer will visit for a brief consultation, explain the work, and answer any questions.
Work schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8am to 5pm
- Friday: 8am to 4.30pm
Our Commitment to you
- minimising disruption and noise, especially in areas not under work
- protecting your carpets, furnishings, and property with dust sheets and keeping doors closed to reduce dust
- cleaning up daily to leave your home tidy
- keeping you informed about work schedules and any days with no work
- creating a photographic record of your home before work begins, if needed
- informing you about the start and finish times of various trades
- adhering to appointments and informing you of any changes promptly
- ensuring home security and staff identification through badges and uniforms
- resolving problems and noting feedback with the help of the Tenant Liaison Officer
- encouraging you to complete a post-work survey for feedback
How you can help
To facilitate smooth work progress:
- keep to appointments and allow access as needed
- inform our Tenant Liaison Officer about any days when access isn’t possible
- securely store valuables and breakables
- contact the Tenant Liaison Officer for assistance if you're elderly or disabled
- ensure children and pets are supervised during work
- withhold judgement until work is complete, as construction can be unpredictable
- follow procedures for comments or complaints, contacting the Tenant Liaison Officer, not the workers
