Buildings insurance
As a leaseholder, Oxford City Council is responsible for insuring your home's structure, but not your personal contents.
To make a claim on the buildings insurance policy with Zurich Municipal, please call 0800 028 0336 or email Farnboroughpropertyclaims@uk.zurich.com. Remember to provide:
- Name of Insured: Oxford City Council
- Policy Number: QLA-18H070-0153
Note: For unoccupied flats, the Buildings Policy requires reasonable precautions to protect your home. This includes securing doors and windows and managing the risk of frozen pipes by either draining the water system or maintaining low-level heating, especially overnight.
Home contents insurance
You are responsible for insuring your home contents, such as furniture, carpets, personal belongings, appliances, and decorations.
You should insure your possessions against loss or damage due to fire, flood, theft, or accidents. Oxford City Council is not liable for any damage to or theft of your possessions.
We also strongly advise including third-party cover in your policy. You would be responsible if you inadvertently cause damage to others' property, like water damage to a neighbour's home due to an overflowing tap.
