Oxford’s Council-owned on-street electric vehicle charging bollards will be moving to a new operator this month.

Starting from Monday 16 September, 13 council-owned on-street electric vehicle charging bollards will be moving from RAW Charging to ODS, working in partnership with EZ Charge.

The changeover will apply to the electric charging bollards at the following locations:

  • Bedford Street, OX4 1SU
  • Frenchay Road, OX2 6TG
  • Juxon Street, OX2 6DR
  • Kineton Road, OX1 4PG
  • Lake Street, OX1 4RR
  • Rose Hill Community Centre, OX4 4HF
  • Sandfield Road, OX3 7RQ
  • Southfield Road, OX4 1PA
  • Stockmore Street, OX4 1JT
  • Stone Street, OX4 1NH
  • Vicarage Close, OX4 4PL
  • West Street, OX2 0BH
  • Wytham Street, OX1 4SU

The transfer from RAW to EZ Charge will begin on Monday 16 September and run until the end of the week. Drivers will be unable to use the charging points while the transfer is taking place, so charging sessions may be disrupted. The transfer period for each charger is expected to take around 24 hours.

Charging bollards will be marked as inactive on the RAW Charging app in advance of the transfer taking place. Drivers are encouraged to check the status of their nearest charge point before starting a charging session.

Following the transfer, drivers will be able to use the chargers by using the EZ Charge App, RFID member cards, or in roaming charging apps.

Under the new operators, the charging bollards will cost drivers 56p per kwh to charge their vehicle. ODS and EZ Charge will also be removing the £1 connection fee for users.

The changeover will not impact lamp post chargers, or chargers at other locations or providers across the city.

Drivers can find their local charging point on ZapMap.

“The Councils on-street charging bollards will be moving to a new operator this month. We know that many people use our chargers on a daily basis – especially those who do not have access a driveway. In order to avoid disruption, please check whether your nearest charging bollard has been transferred before plugging in.”
