Council Leader Susan Brown has appointed new Champions to help Oxford City Council’s work.
The Champions are:
- Councillor Barbara Coyne, Older Peoples’ Champion
- Councillor Mary Clarkson, Heritage Champion
- Councillor Hosnieh Djafari-Marbini, Migrants Champion
- Councillor Rae Humberstone, Armed Forces and Veterans Champion
The Champions will bring their expertise and engagement with key residents, businesses and groups to provide the City Council’s Cabinet Members with knowledge and advice to inform decision-making.
The Champions, which are unpaid roles, will also continue their duties as local councillors representing their wards.
“Our champions play an important role in raising issues on behalf of communities, groups of people or issues with a variety of different cabinet members and also are important links to community and other groups. I’d like to thank them for their work.”
