The Museum of Oxford is hosting a series of family-friendly events and workshops for half term. The events will include workshops on spooky storytelling, breakdancing and medieval medicine.

The events, taking place between Monday 23 October and Friday 27 October, are:

  • Spooky Stories Workshops: A chance to join local authors Angela Kecojevic and Sam Pope in creating spooky characters and s-s-scary stories at a children’s creative writing workshop. The events will take place between 10.30am-12pm and 2pm-3.30pm on Monday 23 October. The workshops are suitable for ages 4-10 and are £3.50 per child.
  • Plastic Drastic Fantastic Family Dance Workshop: Explore the world of plastic through an interactive dance experience for the whole family. The sessions, led by the Akademi dance company, will take place at 11am and 1pm on Tuesday 24 October, and will last for one hour. All ages are welcome, and entry is £4 per person.
  • Medieval Medicine: Step back in time this Halloween and explore the mysteries of medieval medicine, including a chance to make your own herbal posset, learn what the four humours were and mix a real medieval potion. The workshops will take place at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm on Thursday 26 October, and will last for an hour. They are aimed for ages 5+ and entry is £3 per child.
  • Breakdance - Introducing the Solar System: Explore the universe with this breakdancing workshop led by local breakdancer and space scientist Mona. The event will take place between 4pm and 5pm on Friday 27 October. It is aimed at ages 7-11 and entry is £4 per child. For more information and to buy tickets, visit the Museum of Oxford’s website.

“We all know how difficult it is to find things for the kids to do during half term, so why not take advantage of the exciting events and workshops on offer at the Museum of Oxford?”
