*NEW* At the 2021 Census, there were estimated to be 55,238 households containing 140,818 residents - an average household size of 2.5, which has increased from 2.4 in 2011.
- 21,200 people were living in communal establishments. This is 2,557 more residents than in 2011 (18,665)
- In terms of household composition, the largest group of households in Oxford city is 'single family households' (30,517) and in terms of change over the last 10 years, the largest increase was also experienced by 'single family households' (+2,457 or +5%).
- The largest decrease in households between 2011 and 2021 was experienced in 'one person households' (-2,220 or -4%).
