This page explains what to do with extra household rubbish and gives examples of waste we don't collect in our weekly kerbside collection services. Learn what to do with unwanted waste and what action we may take if it's left out.
Extra household rubbish
If your household rubbish doesn't all fit in your green bin or lilac sacks:
- take it to Redbridge Household Waste Recycling Centre
- if you regularly produce extra household rubbish you could request a larger or additional bin, see Request a blue bin or food caddy

What happens if you leave out rubbish or discard waste items
Discarded rubbish and bulky waste is unsightly and can damage the local environment.
If you leave out rubbish we may:
- serve you with a fixed penalty notice of £60 (reduced to £40 if paid in 10 days)
- issue you a legal notice to clear any extra waste which is judged to be harmful to public health or the look of the area
