Adopted Supplementary Planning Documents

Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) provide further guidance for anyone submitting a planning applications. They area material consideration when we come to determine a planning application.

West End and Osney Mead SPD

The purpose of the SPD is to provide guidance on the implementation of existing adopted Local Plan policies as they would apply to new development in the West End and Osney Mead area.

Of particular importance to the West End are Policy AOC1 (designates the West End as an Area of Change); Policy SP1 (which identifies key mixed-use developments in the West End that aim to deliver housing) and Policy SP2 (which allocates Osney Mead for a mixed use development including employment and academic uses together with affordable and employer-linked housing).

The SPD highlights some of the key issues and principles from the Spatial Framework and Design Guide that will help to inform and guide the development that will be coming forward on key sites within the West End and Osney Mead Area.

On adoption of the SPD the Oxpens SPD (2013) and Station SPD (2017) have been superseded and are therefore revoked.
