Prior to submitting an application for a New Hackney Carriage and / or Private Hire Driver Licence the applicant must complete the Driving Standard Assessment Test (Hackney Carriage Driver assessment / Private Hire Driver assessment).
The standard of the assessments are set at a level suitable for a full DVLA driving licence holder. It is therefore higher than the learner driver test.
Please be advised that DVSA do not provide the Taxi driving test any longer since December 2016.
