Introduction to council housing complaint handling self-assessment

The Housing Ombudsman requires that we complete a self-assessment regarding how we handling complaints about our services and actions as a landlord. The self-assessment criteria is provided by the Ombudsman. This assessment should be reviewed and approved by Cabinet at least annually.

We are obliged to publish this self-assessment alongside our annual Complaints Handling and Service Improvement Report and Cabinet’s response to the report. We also submit all of these documents to the Ombudsman to demonstrate we are compliant with their Complaint Handling Code.

Oxford City Council welcomes these requirements as part of our commitment to accountability and transparency.
